One of my buddies, Anil Viji, over at movlance.wordpress.com created a personal project and wanted to share it with everyone. Anil wants to get into 3D matte painting and environments and is just getting started in C4D. This personal project is called “Collapsed Ground Village” and is free for everyone. Check it out, grab some elements or textures for your stuff etc. Make sure to thank Anil and post any feedback on his project in the comments! Find Anil here: twitter.com/movlance

Hey guys, I found a nice little Xpresso rig for free C4D fireworks on Vimeo. It’s made by Noah Witchell and there is also a very extensive tutorial on how he created the rig in Xpresso. It has some basic controls so you can adjust the size/color of the particles and the speed of explosion and decay etc. There aren’t a lot of options for making different looking/styles of fireworks, so if you want to give yourself a nice challenge you could try and rig one up for a different style of explosion. If you come up with anything cool, send it on over, I would love to see it!

My friend Chase Canadé found a really great resource and pointed it out to me. It’s a free C4D 3D model of a rigged human male. Not only is it rigged, but it also comes with 2 free mocap presets! It’s a really fun project to play around with. Unfortunately it’s a bit annoying to download because you have to sign up for a free account with CG River, but if you’re willing to put in a couple minutes of work you can get this model for free.
I will set aside my personal opinion on this revolutionary Apple product and assume that you can use this free model in some way! Remco created this model of an iWatch and we’re giving it away for free. Remco is working on the wrist strap now and hopefully we will get you an updated model shortly. Enjoy!
My friend Ed Rhine over at freed-motion.com has created a nice little freebie for you guys. It’s a pack of free C4D version icons. All of the Cinema4D versions plus Team Render and Net Render have the same logos so it’s kind of confusing if they’re all on your dock at the same time. This will solve that problem for you!
Remco has created a beautiful barber chair model and is sharing it with everyone. It’s free for commercial or personal use, enjoy! Thanks Remco for a great model!

I’m not sure how I’ve missed Simon Russell’s work for so long but I came across his site this week and was very inspired. He has some great free resources and I wanted to make sure you know about them.
Gridify is a free preset rig for generating really cool and intricate patterns with thinking particles. I immediately thought of sci-fi or technology and data type animations.
Spiralator is a similar free C4D Thinking Particles preset generator but it takes particles and creates spiral patterns. You can create random designs, sine waves, spirals or heart rate monitors easily.
Dig in and play around. These tools should help you out with some unique designs. Thanks to Simon Russell for sharing his work.
I have a great freebie for you today! This model was created by Rick Ellis from rickdellis.com It’s a high quality full 3D scene of a gas/petrol station. Feel free to use for your projects, just make sure to take off the station logo and substitute your own so you don’t violate any copyright issues.
Huge thanks to Rick for sharing this model, please leave him a note in the comments if you have a chance!
If you have any free models or resources you want to share let me know, I would love to spread the word!
